Approach and
PROCESS
How we work
A clear process. Thoughtful collaboration. Senior-level creative involvement.
GoldPear is a senior-led design studio built around direct collaboration, clear communication and a structured creative process.
Every project begins with understanding your business, what you need and what the work needs to achieve. From there, the process moves through strategy, creative direction, design, refinement and final implementation – with direct involvement from Talitha throughout.
The aim is not simply to deliver attractive design, but to create thoughtful, practical solutions that work consistently in the real world.
A good fit
GoldPear works best with clients who value the process as much as the outcome.
The strongest projects are collaborative, well considered and built around clear objectives.
GoldPear is typically a good fit for:
- Businesses investing in a professional brand presence for the long term
- Established brands that need refinement, greater consistency or a stronger visual system
- Marketing and brand teams looking for reliable senior-level creative support
- Businesses that value strategic thinking alongside strong visual execution
- Clients who appreciate clear briefs, structured feedback and realistic timelines
- Teams looking for a creative partner rather than simply an artwork supplier
Clients range from growing businesses and new ventures to established South African and international companies.
When GoldPear may not be the right fit
GoldPear may not be the best fit if you are looking for:
- The lowest-cost or quickest possible design solution
- Template-based or highly generic creative work
- Unlimited concepts or revisions
- Continually urgent, same-day design requests
- Design without a clear brief, objective or decision-making process
Good design benefits from clarity, collaboration and enough time to make considered decisions. Establishing those expectations from the beginning helps create a better process – and a stronger final result.
Before we begin
Every project starts with a clearly defined scope.
Before work begins, GoldPear takes time to understand the project requirements, objectives, deliverables and any existing brand material that may influence the work.
Depending on the project, you may be asked to provide:
- A project brief or completed discovery questionnaire
- Background information about your business and audience
- Existing logos, brand guidelines or design assets
- Final or draft copy and content
- Product or packaging specifications
- Website requirements and functionality
- Examples, references or competitor information
- Relevant deadlines and rollout requirements
Once the scope is understood, you will receive a written quotation outlining the agreed deliverables, investment and project expectations.

The Process
1
Discovery & Alignment
Every project begins with understanding your business, audience, objectives and challenges. Depending on the scope, this may involve a written discovery questionnaire, project brief, existing brand material, research or strategic information. The purpose is to establish what the project needs to achieve before creative work begins.
2
Strategy & Direction
Once the objectives are clear, the strategic and creative direction is established. Depending on the project, this may include brand positioning, visual direction, content structure, packaging direction, website architecture or another appropriate framework. This stage creates a clear foundation for the creative decisions that follow.
3
Design & Development
The agreed direction is translated into the relevant visual identity, packaging, website, campaign or design applications. Every element is developed with real-world use in mind – considering how the work needs to function across different formats, platforms and brand touchpoints.
4
Presentation & Feedback
Creative work is presented with context and reasoning rather than simply sent through as isolated design options. You will have the opportunity to review the work and provide consolidated feedback during the revision stages included in your project scope. Clear, considered feedback helps keep the process focused and ensures each revision moves the project forward.
5
Refinement & Finalisation
Following feedback and approval of the direction, the selected work is refined and prepared for final use. Depending on the project, this may include final layouts, logo systems, brand applications, print-ready artwork, packaging files, responsive website development or other agreed deliverables.
6
Delivery &
Rollout
Once the project is approved and any outstanding balance has been settled, the agreed final files and deliverables are prepared and supplied. Where appropriate, guidance is provided to help you implement the work confidently and consistently. For businesses requiring continued creative support, GoldPear can also assist with rollout, ongoing design requirements and longer-term creative partnerships.
Working Together
Clear communication keeps projects moving.
GoldPear works primarily through structured written communication, allowing briefs, decisions and feedback to remain clear and easy to reference throughout the project.
Online meetings can be arranged where a discussion or presentation adds value, but unnecessary meetings are avoided so that project time remains focused on the work itself.
Feedback
Feedback should ideally be consolidated into one clear response from the relevant decision-makers.
Multiple sets of conflicting or staggered feedback can affect both timelines and scope, so establishing who has final approval at the beginning of the project is helpful.
Revisions
Revision rounds are defined in the approved quotation.
Revisions are intended to refine the presented creative direction. Significant changes to the original brief, entirely new concepts or additional deliverables may require a revised scope and quotation.
Timelines
Project timelines depend on scope, complexity, client feedback and studio availability.
An estimated schedule is established before work begins. Prompt delivery of content, approvals and consolidated feedback helps keep the project on track.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Timelines vary depending on the size and complexity of the project. Smaller standalone design projects may take a few days or weeks, while complete brand identities, packaging ranges and websites require a longer development period.
An estimated timeline is confirmed once the project has been scoped.
The number of revision rounds is clearly defined in your quotation before work begins.
Additional revisions, new concepts or changes outside the approved scope can usually be accommodated and will be quoted separately where required.
The most important things are clear information, access to the required content or assets, consolidated feedback and timely approvals.
You do not need to arrive with all the creative answers – developing the visual solution is GoldPear’s role – but good background information and clear business objectives make the creative process significantly stronger.
GoldPear is led by Talitha Joubert, and you work directly with her throughout the creative process rather than through an account manager.
Where a project requires specialist expertise such as copywriting or additional development, trusted collaborators may be brought in as part of the agreed project scope.
Yes. GoldPear operates as a remote creative studio and works with clients throughout South Africa and internationally.
Briefing, presentations, feedback, meetings and final delivery can all be managed online.
Yes. GoldPear can work independently or collaboratively with internal marketing teams, brand managers, developers, copywriters, printers and other specialist partners.
This is particularly useful for established businesses that already have part of their marketing or production team in place.
Projects sometimes evolve once work begins.
If a request falls outside the agreed scope, the additional requirement will be discussed before proceeding. Depending on the change, it may simply require an additional fee or a revised project scope and timeline.
GoldPear can remain involved beyond the initial project to assist with brand rollout, marketing collateral, presentations, digital assets, website updates, packaging and other ongoing requirements.
For businesses requiring regular creative support, tailored monthly creative partnerships are also available subject to studio capacity.
